Linh & Caleb’s Destination Wedding

15 May, 2019 by Rose Kuruvilla

Linh and Caleb’s destination wedding took place at the Visitors Centre at Tanarimba, Janda Baik at the very start of 2017. I took so long to write a blog post about it as their wedding took place right about the time I had a baby and a new chapter of my life began.

I was overwhelmed with joy when I found out I was expecting but knew that it would mean I was taking a step back when it came to my clients. Luckily most of my clients were pretty happy for me and wanted me to carry on as their planner despite. Linh and Caleb’s wedding was going to be most affected as I was due few days before their big day. I ensured them that I would find a reliable coordinator to help them execute the plans before their big day and they were on board with it. I brought Andrea Ho in to coordinate their wedding. I had worked with Andrea previously on another wedding and she was instrumental in the coordination. I was confident that she would be the perfect person coordinate this wedding without me on site and she was.

Linh (from Vietnam) and Caleb (from Malaysia) met and fell in love in Adelaide where they now reside. Linh was the bride that was dreaming of her wedding day as a child and Caleb – easy going and relaxed, as most groom’s are with his bride’s ideas let her style it to her liking. Their colour scheme ranged from vibrant spring colours to a hint of gold. You could see their theme in everything from the flowers to the decor, from the dresses to the location.

Linh was set on a do it yourself craft styled wedding in a natural rustic elegance. She wanted romantic calligraphy on stationery. She wanted fans with the program on it. She wanted a wedding that was so personalised that one look and you would know is about the couple, their faith and their love for each other.

What I loved most about their wedding was that the couple trusted us so much that they did not fall apart when their plans didn’t go as they wanted. Their ceremony was meant to be outdoors but with our risky tropical climate, the rain came down early that day. They just agreed to set up indoors and go with the rain plan which we always have. They trusted that we had a plan and that is why we have rain plans. They knew that them getting married is more important than the ideal scenarios.  Tanarimba Visitors Centre was a beautiful spot even indoors. The natural rustic wood look gave their wedding the ambience they always wanted despite not being able to have it outdoors on the grass.

A fun and lovely couple that was involved in every aspect of shaping their beautiful day. Our team at Never Ending Ideas was honoured to have helped put together all your plans and coordinated your beautiful day. We are honoured to be a part of making your dream wedding come true.

A big thank you to Andrea Ho for coordinating this event. I only heard good things about how everything went.

Sydney Bridal Expo 2013

8 April, 2013 by Rose Kuruvilla

April is an exciting month for me, especially this year. Not only is it my birthday month but it also is a month filled with opportunities. Sometimes I feel the month is generally good as it is a build up to my birthday which is at the end of the month. 🙂

I have not written an update in a while as we’ve been busy with events. Yay! This is a great start for Never Ending Ideas. We are working with a few lovely clients on their events and at the same time getting acquainted with the wedding industry. I visited Sydney for the Easter Holidays and whilst there, I had the opportunity to attend the 24th Sydney Bridal Expo, which is what I am dying to tell you about.

The Sydney Bridal Expo is Sydney’s most elegant and stylish event on the bridal calendar in Sydney. This year the event featured Australia’s leading couture designers including Haute Couture by Marietta Haddad, Rhonda Hemmingway, Rosalynn Win Haute Couture, Hugs for Brides, All the Rage, Vee Love Couture and Luv Bridal & Formal. Even International designer Galia Lahav Couture flew in with her team from Tel Aviv to present her haute couture gowns.

The runway shows have been a hallmark of the Sydney Bridal Expo. I can see why. The show was simply fabulous from the gown selection to the catwalk choreography.

This is gown by Hugs for Brides that got a lot of attention from the crowd. This classic princess cut was jazzed up with a modern twist of having the front end of the gown falling 3/4 in length exposing her bridal shoes. I agree this picture doesn’t show the end of the gown properly but it was the best I could take as there was a big crowd.

HUGS FOR BRIDES

One of my favourite parts of the runway show was Natasha Milani Bridesmaid’s Collection. She designed a collection of pretty Parisian style dresses for bridesmaids and accessorized their look with super cute and chic vintage box handbags, hats and hairpieces.

Off course the expo had more than just gown designers. You could plan an entire wedding with all the bridal suppliers there! I had the pleasure of meeting some really nice vendors. As you can see in the pictures below, I’m engrossed in conversation. 🙂

The Sydney Bridal Expo was a great event and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. It inspired me and has given me some fresh ideas to work with. Attending the Sydney Bridal Expo has given me a new perspective on weddings and introduced me to the Australian wedding culture.

The Birth of Never Ending Ideas

16 January, 2013 by Rose Kuruvilla

“Ideas excite me, and as soon as I get excited, the adrenaline gets going and the next thing I know I’m borrowing energy from the ideas themselves.” – Ray Bradbury

How many times a day do you look at an object and think about the many things you could do with it? I cannot give you the number of times I do that simply because that is how my mind works. I am curious and a dreamer. Tell me you like balloons and I will float you in the air!

Planning weddings and events was never something I envisioned myself doing professionally until I planned my big day.

My big day was just that – BIG. Not just by the amount of people who came but with the concept and theme of the whole day in itself. My husband and I wanted something different. We didn’t want a typical colour themed wedding. We chose a Jungle theme with birds and pink roses. Highlights of our wedding included a Bird photo booth, an interpretive dance as a grand entrance to our first dance. Every detail fell within the theme. (You will see pictures of our wedding in the gallery).

We looked for a wedding planner in Malaysia and could not find a single person that could do the job as detailed and excited, as we wanted them to be. Having to plan our wedding ourselves with the help of family members and friends, we had our dream wedding.

I worked in a lot of theatre productions and planned many social events in school and University. My whole life has been about detail and studying law further emphasized my love for details. After planning my wedding I just knew that planning was for me.  It is the perfect combination of my love to dream and my detailed organizational skills.

With the birth of Never Ending Ideas – I aim to put fresh ideas on the table and give you an event you deserve.  From conceptualizing to planning to executing – we do it all. Most importantly we make the event all about you.

My blog entries will feature some of my ideas, my thoughts, my experiences and the work that I do.

Enjoy the read!
